We have spent the last several weeks thinking on who Christ is and about the Incarnation. Before getting back to our study in the book of Exodus, we will begin the year by considering the salvation we have in Christ by studying Ephesians 1:3-7. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is one of the richest letters in the entire Bible. There is great truth to be gleaned about our salvation. The first half sets forth much Christian doctrine and theology, and the second half deals with how the church ought to respond and live in light of that theology.
Paul, in the passage we will study, details a number of the benefits of salvation and shows us that they flow to us by virtue of union with Christ–Paul uses the phrases “In Christ,” (verse 3) and “in him,” (verses 4 and 7). As Paul considers various aspects of salvation in this passage, he will show us that we have a complete salvation because we have a complete Savior.
Will you join us this Lord’s Day as we consider union with Christ in more detail? We meet for worship at 9 AM at 9820 W Markham St. in Little Rock (the sanctuary of Faith United Methodist Church).
